The right content strategy for your organization
Making a content strategy is the first step of any event designing process. It can make or break your event. It is the first impression that you give of what your event would be like. It’s the entry point towards conversion, the event itself is the later part.
Of course the content strategy for each event would be different, however there can be basic framework to go about making one for all events.
- Know your target audience
Research your audience, their questions, needs, hangout platforms, circles and more. Go to the platforms where they interact, the kind of queries they raise, what they are following, liking and responding to, etc. Find the keywords being most used by your audience.
- Decide on the modalities of content
Decide what platforms you want to publish your content; traditional media, digital media or both? Which platforms of social media your target audience would be found? Which websites your audience engages most with? Social media is the most generative platform for content.
- Track the evolution of your brand image
Know where your brand image already is and where it has to be positioned further through this event. Know how the brand image has come about to be where it already is and what content can move it where you want it to.
- Prepare your content strategy
Once you know who you have to write for, where you have to write and why you have to write, you will know what you have to write. Prepare your strategy that has the answers to the existing problems and let the audience engage with it.
- Generate stories that connects the audience
There is no point generating content that cannot connect to your audience. Story format is considerably more engaging. Formulating your content in the story format entails stating background, time frame and setting.
- Network through the content
Let your content float wherever your audience is. Let the audience engage with it and track the pattern how the audience is engaging, which will help you further strategizing your content.
